Alzheimer’s & Dementia have generally been diseases known to afflict older people. However, more and more younger families have members being diagnosed. Most people think of Alzheimer’s and Dementia as just memory loss, but what people don’t realize is how it slowly changes someone’s personality and transforms everything about them. It not only affects the person with the disease, but disrupts the whole family. Younger families are at a less developed stage in their lives. They are usually unprepared when it hits them. Furthermore, there is almost no support for families who are dealing with Alzheimer’s & Dementia at such a young age. This film follows four families who invited the producers into their lives for more than a year to examine the real challenges they face. Four of the children of early onset parents are the focus of the film. A panel discussion with Producer Chris Wynn and young carer Emily Chiara Fraschetti will follow the screening.
